Using your life's experiences to help guide and protect them while never forgetting what it felt like to be their age.
Money makes a good parent? Rich people are better parents than poor people? I don't think so...
When I try to understand my son, I always think of myself at that age and what I though in a similar situation. Now that doesn't mean it wins him the battle every time, especially if it's something that could hurt him in some way, but it does keep in perspective how important it is to enforce the issue.
Teaching your children to be decent menbers of society, guiding them thu the hurdles of adolescence however frustrating that may be and lots of love, support, encouragement and praise where praise is due. Too many parents come down hard on thier kids when the are disapointed with them but seldom do they acknowledge the milestones they achieve, however small that may be.
Parents owe their children enslavement for live as compensation for giving birth to them. What right do parents have to pass on their (probably deficient) genes to innocent newborns who will most likely grow up to become pathetic losers like the majority of people in the world and then die?
