Hey Aya. True. Also in Afghanistan there was also a high illiteracy rate which meant that a huge proportion couldn't even read the ballot papers they were using to vote. Yet another thing they didn't take into consideration.
Ha! Yeah, and I've heard ppl say that it's such a step for democracy. There is a superiourity complex, in thinking that only western types of democracy are good, and of course, like you see in African countries, that leads to corruption. However, there are a few African countries that I've seen on tv, that have their own type of democracy set up, which is different from ours, yet works just fine, because it's been that way for centuries. But ppl say that our type is better b/c they look at it from a superiour perspective.

Plus, if you notice, some of the women look like the voting booth. And I heard, though not entirely sure, that karzai once said: "Let your women vote, but control who they vote for."
