[+] serious ballot by maxxman created Tue Dec 28, 04 Foreign English teachers take their vacations this time of year in exotic Asian locales. 2 of my friends who teach in a school near mine were in Phuket Thailand when the Tsunami struck. They managed to get a phone call through , they're banged up but alive. They said one minute they're on the beach enjoying the sunshine with a cool drink. The next minute everyone is screaming and running like hell from the approaching wall of water. No one could run fast enough. They could only hold on to a palm tree as the current ripped around them.Those who tried to reach out to others were swept away themselves.This is the only humanitarian ballot I hope I ever have to write. It is a simple request to reach out and help any way you can. If you donate to a relief agency , make sure it is a legitimate one. These Natural disasters bring out the best and worst in humanity. Scumbags set up bogus relief agencies and pocket the money. There's a million ways to help volunteering , donations ,anything. I wish all of you a safe and happy New Year.
