COMMENTS:
Most definitely yes. We are a plague that is wiping out the world in the blink of an eye according to the Earth's timeline. Our short pitiful lives will be over before we notice dramtic changes. This world has had life on it for billions of years. The dinosaurs were here roughly 225M years up to 65M years ago. That is only a drop in the water. Humans on the other hand have been here for maybe a couple of million years as an intelligent species, before that we were amalgamated with the ape family. Yet almost everything we've done to this planet has occured mostly during the last 150 years or so. Our population has doubles several times in only the last century. So it is quite obvious that this world will be completely oblitereated by us in the next blink of an eye (earth timeline). Maybe something more intelligent than us will come along in a few million years and do it properly next time around. What is the one thing catapulting us to our doom? The world economy.
goody! i am not the only one who thinks this! i would exterminate them all if i could, but since i cannot, i will just enjoy their company, falalalala, lalalala!
It's hard to even enjoy their company, well maybe five or six of them, but the Earth would be beautiful without us on it at all, we're killing it, and we're not smart enough to figure out how to stop it now. It's so sad, it really is a pity what we're doing to it. God did not put us here, if any 'God' put us here then this 'God' is on the evil dark side, and look we're all fighting with each other over 'God' :p I just can't believe it.

Go Nietzsche.
Yeah we are.And when mother nature figures out how to deal with us mankind is in a whole lot of trouble
I keep seeing the Earth swallowing us all up, three or four days of pure terror.. screaming crying, blood everywhere, then we're gone and we won't be remembered for another billion years!

If you have no hope for the human race then you might as well not be human. Buck your ideas up. Whine whine whine we're all pooey diseases that are inherently evil. Wah wah wah. Shut up.
^pooey disease? You'll call it whining but it's disgust and pity, I do not whine, baby man.

Disgust and pity? Oh that's alright then. Maybe when you see the earth swallowing us all up and we're crying blood etc you could shut your eyes. You must realise humanity isn't a disease, surely. You must know what we are. Don't you think that to portray humanity as a disease might influence some weak (disease ish like) people to feel just that way. There are enough people on this site who try to pretend that humanity is tragically flawed and inherently doomed to war and debt. Maybe you made this ballot in the morning when you were moody, or after a particularly unpleasant glimpse into the darkest recesses of your mind, so i'll let you off. In fact, fuck it, I forgive you for trying to make people think of themselves as a disease. By the way, pooey means to smell like poo (shit), so your baby man quip is particularly apt. Well done ;o)
Then thanks for "letting me off" Reality is so damn dissappointing when you get a glimpse of it. And no, I will not shut my eyes, I WILL LAUGH.

(if you have to read everything in a whiney tone, sure then go ahead, but you can't imagine my nausea, I passed whining at least ten years ago)

I really did have a whiny voice in my head when I read the post in question. Your other ones were quite foxy. I'm sad that you think reality is disappointing. I think it's beautiful, and tragic, and wondrous. I suppose it depends where you look. Hope you find something awe inspiring to look at today.
That's nice then thanks :) Well maybe I shouldn't listen to the news today.

Most of us are, but there are a few people, like American Indians circa 1700 who lived with the land (rather than trying to conquer it) and Sierra Club, or NRDC, or EDF, or Treepeople, or Greenpeace members who are trying to, as Michael Jackson said, "heal the world, and make it a better place."
You should really watch the cartoons of John Muir and GW on the Sierra Club website. They are pretty good. As for disease? Uhh, as close as I've found in my lifetime, the meaning of life is not to love, or to find and worship God, or any crap like that. Survival is the meaning of life. Practically all we do is geared toward survival... it's instinctual. Now you may ask about suicide or heroic sacrifice. These both are taking everyone else in mind. Suicide removes the "weak" person from society, thus protecting society. Heroic sacrifice causes a person to exchange their own life for someone else whom they value more. Yep, survival.
Aren't diseases the same way? Isn't their whole purpose just to survive and infect? Well, maybe you're wrong, but I'd say we come pretty close to a disease. You people should read Carl Sagan's "Pale Blue Dot." We are not "creato-centric" (I made that up to mean the center of creation.) There are 10 million species or so that inhabit Earth. Try and convince yourself that God made everything, including all those other species. Now imagine another world, like ours with another 10 million species. Try convincing them that they were created for us.
I can look at almost everything else in the world, the plants and the seas and the animals, and I can see 'god' there yes. I'm sure lately that some other evil force brought mankind to choke the hell out of the beautiful Earth.

Yes and NO. Obviously pollution and the torching of the earth represents the worst of humanity. But the world seems brighter and more alive with humans art, trinkets and flavor. We need to co-excist a trait that humans are not that well at doing as history has seemed on retelling us.
YES

People think for themselves, landfills are filled to the brim, we are constantly using up natural resources, and tearing down whole forests for construction. Meanwhile, we bitch about political things such as how stupid liberals are, and how stupid republicans are. How important is it, when we're all a bunch of monkeys? Mm, I don't know about the world swallowing us up, I just figured we'd wind up killing ourselves off.
I don't believe in god and I don't think we are necesarily a disease. We can choose to stop being a disease, by generating a sustainable economy. Besides, the health of other animals and plants doesn't matter, they're not sentient.
neccesarily*
"the health of other animals and plants doesn't matter" That's how most people feel, isn't it? That's just more proof.
