COMMENTS:
Now I usually agree with the ACLU on their choices, but this time I think they're in the wrong. The stickers don't seem to imply anything about religion, and evolution is indeed a theory. It IS one of many theories, but it's also by far the most commonly-accepted one. Schools need to teach theories as such and not as fact, and evolution is no different. The stickers don't bother me at all.
It violates separation of church and state. Democracy is premised on the principle that all opposing ideas can be voiced. Noble idea, but that doesn't work in science. There are people who believe that the holocaust never happened, but that is not taught in history

Hey pussy, if you got something to say, why don't you register instead of hiding under anonymous? What the fuck are you doing here, if all you're gonna do is insult us? Fuck off

People saying "Theory of Evolution" is much like when I say "Goddamit" when I hit my thumb with a hammer- Purely out of habit, I don't believe in god. While it was once a theory, it has proven beyond the reasonable doubt that it is a fact. Heck even the "Theory of Relativity" has been proven to be a scientific fact, and that theory is 200 years younger. It's been a while since the church took the leap and accepted a scientific fact (I think the last major one was something about earth not being the center of the universe...) I wonder when they will finally catch up?

Has it really been proven that factual LCD? Maybe I'm a little behind on this -- I've never been good at science. As for the Catholic church accepting a scientific fact -- I think the last one was in the mid-80s when the pope finally confessed that Earth was, indeed, round. Why the hell do I belong to this group of idiots? Oh and try not to hit your thumb with a hammer either. grin
Both the second and third choices seem appropriate. I have no problem with the stickers. I would have a problem with 'intelligent design' being taught in science classes as there are absolutely no facts supporting theories of creation, whereas Evolution is based upon facts. If people want to study different theories about creation, they should do so in an elected college class. Dropping the word 'Evolution' from the theory originally called 'The Theory of Evolution' is just ridiculous and completely beside the point.
"Oh my what a dirty little girl aya is! Wow I've lost respect for you , no wait I never had any respect for you :p " Ohh, I"m so offended--not. Why don't you register, whastamma, don't got any balls?

Thank you, Cobb County, for showing the world how far behind the times Georgia is. Something that is, at worst, a no-brainer, gets up-twisted into a tornado. Anyone with more than six brain cells can figure out that evolution IS a theory, and that it's not worth the time and effort of raising a legal challenge. And the citizens here wonder why Georgia is dead last in the nation in SAT scores...
Might as well put a 'this is only a theory' sticker on all science books. Even Newton's theories proved only to be an approximation at relatively low speeds.
Church's should have signs "beware of brainwashing"
I don't think the stickers were necessary in the first place. Children should be taught what a theory is. Children should be taught in great detail what evolution is, but I do believe there's enough room in the textbook to devote a paragraph or two to alternative theories. That being said, there is absolutely no need for a sticker in the first place place. Good call on the removal.
How about a sticker saying, "We can make you believe whatever we like because you're all square eyed, medicated losers whose parents have divorced. Produce, consume and die cheaply you fucking maggots." That might cover it, I think.
1. It single dout one theory of the myriad scientific theories. 2. It attempts to impose the will of one religion into the classroom curriculum.
Well evolution IS a theory. It has a plenty of evidence, is universally accepted by educated people as the way things happened, and is most likely true. But by the technical definition of the word it is still a theory. I don't mind them pointing this out so long as they teach it fairly afterwards and don't try to mix in creationism.
Yes, it s a theory. So is gravity and a thousand other things taught in science classes. Trying to single out Evolution is wrong.
I think that any student who pays the slightest attention in science class will know that evolution is a theory, and not a fact. It is also up to the teacher to teach that, not a sticker on their textbook.
Cathexis Hit's the head on the nail. The reason why they single out this particular theory is that it conflicts with their religion.

Neo-darwinism is a fundy nutjob religion like the creationists. Its been gone through over and over and still claimng that evidence supports it is the evidence that its a fundy religion of the nation/state sci. materialists.
Not a shred of evidence that hasnt been entirely explained and/or proven as propaganda or plain intellectual limitations..Its not surprising though. Those who teach it come from a culture notorious for being pathological and never getting beyond adolescence
By the way , the medical establishment and the neo/- darwinists are the same establishment. One requires the other. So if youre that trustwortthy ....let em have ya. you'll just be another statistic at the hands of nutjobs
There was the guy not long ago , had his house burned down.It was arranged by the teaching faculty. yep, good way to get the point across. One burns witches , the other burns down peoples houses come out of the 15th--18th century ,kids.
* or 19th even
Evolution isn't a theory. Darwins "theory" of evolution, however, is a theory.
Voted : Evolution IS theory and not fact; thus no problem.
it would be overturned in higher court. Evolution is still being taught. Besides, they can put another stick in that reads: 'This material should be approached with an open mind, studied carefully and critically considered.''
