All of the above are probably equally true.
he wanted to look good
I've never seen a more CONTRIVED political act in my life. God it was SO PHONY. The whole thing was like the landing on the aircraft carrier. PHONY AS HELL! I saw the film footage on TV. You can see when he's holding the platter with the turkey that he was POSING for pictures that HE KNEW would be on the front page of every newspaper in the country the next day. And IF YOU NOTICED, none of the troops around him WERE SMILING! They werem't glad to see him AT ALL! The whole thing was like a movie star on a Promotional Tour for their next movie. He didn't care about the troops, he cared about the PUBLICITY of the event. That's what the whole thing was about PULICITY! Making it LOOK LIKE he cared! PHONY, PHONY, PHONY! It makes me want to puke!
He did it for publicity, and morale boosting was an added bonus. Yes, he is a coward, even though he went to "Iraq" if you count 2 hours at the most heavily guarded building in the country going to Iraq.
omg omg Bush is so KEWL! God is GOODer than U and Jesus had CRABS! OMG OMG OMG
he wanted to blow saddam one more time.
The only reason he went there was for a photo-op. Most of the troops hate him. In fact i know alot of troops who made their own deck of cards of most wanted with Bush and Rumsfeld as the aces.
He needed a photo op. It helps brainwash stupid voters into thinking he cares about troops. If he really did he would think more about his decisions in Iraq and attend a funeral or two. He is as transparent as Saran Wrap.
You Liberals would say he made the wrong choice no matter what he did.. Thank God you aren't in charge
