BUSH THINKS HE AND HIS ADMINISTRATION SHOULDN'T BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR IRAQ BECAUSE HE WAS RE-ELECTED. YOUR THOUGHTS?

WASHINGTON (Jan. 16) - President George W. Bush says there is no need to hold anyone in his administration accountable for what has happened in Iraq because the voters have already spoken.

"We had an accountability moment, and that's called the 2004 elections," Bush said in an interview with The Washington Post for Sunday's editions. "The American people listened to different assessments made about what was taking place in Iraq, and they looked at the two candidates, and chose me."

So he implied in the quote that, because he was elected, all of America agrees with what's happening in Iraq. Interesting, because 51% of voters voted for him, and in an AOL poll, 69% of people actually disagree with what's going on in Iraq. Is Bush really that naive? Is he just trying to lay the blame somewhere else? Is he blaming the American voters for re-electing him (if they actually did)? Does anyone else get the impression that he thinks he's all-powerful? Does he seriously buy his own rationale?

Terrible rationale.
He actually thinks everyone supports him.
he was not re-elected...he was previously selected

Sheesh. Arrogant in the extreme. Let's see how he pushes the envelope in the next four years ... and if a web site like this will still be allowed to exist.

Great ballot, BTW.

He doesn't buy his own rationale, but working-class Americans mistakenly do.

Interesting that herzog hasn't posted on this poll -- I guess not even the hard right can defend this.

He should only be held responsbile for the events of Iraq in his 1st term in office, the 51% of Americans who allegedly voted for him in the 2004 Presidential Election should be however responsible for any/all events that unfolds in Iraq (good or bad) during his 2nd term in office...

He should be held accontable as so should the 51 percent of American voters who voted for him.

Does that mean if Hitler was re elected he wouldn’t be held accountable for the holocaust or if Stalin was re elected he wouldn’t be held accountable for murdering his own people?
