IRAN: HE WOULDN'T, WOULD HE ...?

The Bush administration has been carrying out secret reconnaissance missions to learn about nuclear, chemical and missile sites in Iran in preparation for possible airstrikes there, journalist Seymour Hersh said Sunday (Jan 16, 2005).

The effort has been under way at least since last summer, Hersh said on CNN's Late Edition.

Do you believe, despite everything else going on, Bush will launch some kind of attack on Iran?

COMMENTS:
"The planning for Iran is going ahead even though Iraq is a mess," Hersh said. "I think they really think there's a chance to do something in Iran, perhaps by summer, to get the intelligence on the sites."

He added, "The guys on the inside really want to do this."

Hersh identified those inside people as the Neoconservative civilian leadership in the Pentagon. That includes Rumsfeld, Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz and Undersecretary of Defense Doug Feith -- the sort of war hawks that connected with the war in Iraq.

I would like to think he'd try the diplomatic route first but going on his past record that seems unlikely.

I read that article too and was not at all surprised to see the neo-cons suggesting that Iran could only be dealt with by force.

Maybe those mini nukes that were built recently will come in handy.

By the way, there need to be mushroom clouds on the tv to convince the Christians that it's Armageddon.
Various people predict the Apocalypse and Armageddon repeatedly. Ever since Aleister Crowley. Up to now they've all been wrong. Maybe the flesh and blood people behind it all have finally got round to it.

Who's going to be sent there? More of the working-class people who voted for Bush?

Who'll be paying for this? All of us?

Give him half a reason. he went chin deep into Iraq on a premise that turned out to be a true as the rumors that I'm Adolf Hitler's illegitimate son. Maybe this is where his Waterloo comes.

Iraq already thinking of declaring war on Iran, for the terrorists they keep sending across the border.
by Dragonman657 on Mon Jan 17, 05 6:40pm [+]

It's all been sketched out in the PNAC document. They are going to continue fucking things up in the Middle East. It may need another terrorist atrocity before they can get going.
by cretin_slap on Tue Jan 18, 05 3:29am [+]

Bush will engineer another "terrorist" attack (9/11/05) and use it to associate iran with terrorism. It will piss of his dad who funded them in the Iran-Iraq war but who cares!!!

I don't think I voted for a war in Iran..and anytime someone brings up Aleister Crowley, it's time for me to exit the building. Too creepy for me.

Crowley, Nietzsche, Dostoevsky. Evil bastards all.
In fact Bush managed to garble a quote from Dostoevsky's The Devils. Bush intoned:
"We have lit a fire as; a fire in the minds of men."

The quote in The Devils by Satanist Dostoevsky comes at a point in the book where some characters are trying to put out a fire that was set by terrorists (funnily enough). It reads:
"The fire is in the minds of men and not in the roofs of houses."

So according to Dostoevsky the Satanist terrorists have a fire in their minds, and Bush says that "we" have lit a fire in the minds of men.

Bush is the terrorist. And Iran is going to find that fact out very soon it seems.

He would. According to him, it is unfounded in truth. "That being said, all options are on the table."

If we are ever going to do anything to Iran, now would be the time to do it. We just about have them from all sides. We have the bases in Kuwait, Iraq, can controll the Gulf easy, and have bases in Afghanistan. Not to mention, the countries around Iran, unlike Iraq I think would be a lot more friendly to the U.S. I don't think we will do anything to Iran though, as far as force goes. I think Iran will fall within the next few years anyway. They are barely holding onto their government now. I seriously think their own people might take over, but you never know.

he has, Bush has tageted Iraq, afganastain, north korea and iran since before 911.
by seon on Fri Jun 10, 05 5:58am [+]

and is he going to occupy these countries in a way similar to the Roman empire ( because this IS turning into empire building)will he do something akin to the rape of the Sabine women ... gawd knows how he will justify how he spreads out the folk of America in an attempt to occupy the middle east (Mississippi east).
