WILL BUSH SUCCEED IN PRIVATIZING SOCIAL SECURITY?

[+] serious ballot by Cathexis
created Wed Jan 19, 05

House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Bill Thomas (R-Calif.) predicted Jan. 18, 2005, that partisan warfare over Social Security will quickly render President Bush's privatization plan "a dead horse" and called on Congress to undertake a broader review of the problems of an aging nation.

Do you think Bush's plan to privatize Social Security will be enacted? {Note: The question is not should it pass, but will it pass.}

Yes: Bush's SS privatization plan will be (essentially) passed
No: Bush's SS privatization plan will not pass

I am waiting for the US Congress to pass a law similar to that was mooted in Soylent Green, would solve the problem of hunger and resolve the aging population problem.

I say this in jest, but ya know, with this administration I would not be overly surprised lol.

With all that "political capital" he plans on hosing around, I'd call it a done deal, to the detriment of millions (read OUR GENERATION).

What he meant was political capitol. First Baghdad and next he's going after Tehran.

Forced private savings is almost as bad as the current system. And with the proper changes it could be even worse.
