[+] ballot by Cathexis
created Thu Jan 20, 05

US conservative groups are up in arms over a music video featuring children's TV hero SpongeBob SquarePants.

Focus on the Family and other groups say the video -- a remake of the Sister Sledge hit, We Are Family -- is a vehicle for pro-gay propaganda.

So ... Do you believe Spongebob is a threat to Moral Values?

Yes: What *is* the nature of his relationship with Patrick?!?
No: Someone has ... issues

COMMENTS:
Well some of the cartoonists for spongebob are known to be gay, and It is plain to see in the cartoon, I think the gop has other things to worry about.

His friend Squidward does look like a big c**k and balls. Every ten years the conservatives tell us there is a new threat to our children's morals. In the '90s it was Tinky Winky. In the '80s it was Huey Lewis.

anytime there's the word family in it, you know they aren't happy. Always portraying themselves as huge victims.

Nah, not Spongebob. I always thought there was something awfully suspicious about Captain Kangaroo and Mr. Greenjeans though. Just what kind of a name is Greenjeans anyway?

Spongebob is about the only good cartoon these days. Most cartoons made today are full of social commentary and innuendo.Spongebob is about as free from this as any I've seen and I hope it stays that way since I think the show is a riot.

There's an expression for this type of sitch- "past problems, past issues and into undiscovered country". Tens of thousands of wild-eyed terrorists who want us wiped off the map, and these clowns are gunning for a cartoon sponge. Well, I can at least say to future generations that I didn't vote for any of these people. And when did Huey Lewis become an issue for cons to worry over, aside from his bland neo-rock stylings?

The pro-gay movement is using a childrens cartoon to spread its gay friendly propoganda. This is a sad day for the American family.

Like Bugs Bunny wearing a dress and kissing Elmer Fudd was any different.

Yeah, danny ... it's all a plot. What we need is good conservative cartoons. Here's an excerpt from one:

"Oooooh ... ! Those wascally queews!! Where's my shotgun?!? I'm gonna *bwast* you fagguch!"
