COMMENTS:
A memorandum from Exxon to the White House in early 2001 specifically asked it to get the previous chairman, Dr Robert Watson, the chief scientist of the World Bank, "replaced at the request of the US." The Bush administration then lobbied other countries in favor of Dr Pachauri -- whom the former vice-president Al Gore called the "let's drag our feet" candidate -- and got him elected to replace Dr Watson, a British-born naturalized American, who had repeatedly called for urgent action.
How bad is it when a Bush-picked "drags his feet" candidate warns on something?!?
Just another example of the short sightedness of the American Government. Pollution levels will only increase whilst America lead the world by such bad example. In answer to your question though, yes, i am sure they will force him to step down.
Conservatives tend to be myopic, where as liberals tend to be hypermetropic. There in lies the problem.
That guy has guts to contradict one of the Bush Adminstration's favorite Big Lies.

The Unwritten Eleventh Commandment- Thou shalt not contradict the Chosen One, in word, thought or deed, even if thou speakest God's Own Truth.
