ARE THE REASONS GIVEN FOR THE INVASION OF IRAQ, A GOOD EXAMPLE OF HISTORY BEING REWRITTEN?

I wonder if anyone can remember the reasons given for the invasion of Iraq, as I look over old ballots and see some incredible assertions.

The ACTUAL reason was to dismantle Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction.

Since that was proved a false hood, its now become apparent that those who either supported the US backed invasion have selective memory when it comes to admitting the true events.

Glaringly obvious.

Not so obvious to some, who believe we were there for reasons OTHER than the one I stated above.

Gloriously obvious.

Sadly, when some people decide they are going to support an undertaking because their "side" supports it, no amount of Reality will prevent them from doggedly defending the action.

Although, I don't know how they do it ... I couldn't lie to myself for such a long duration.

Theres a phrase in history that sums it all up...

'The bigger the lie, the more people will believe it'

Considering that we still have those who believe that WMDs were in Iraq (for those who doubt me, you should've caught Shepard Smith's story from Baghdad, where he walked a camera through one of the bunkers under Saddam's palace, taking the trouble to point out a lone boot to a hazmat suit lying in a room, commenting, "Why would anyone need a hazmat suit if there were no WMDs?".) This a full two months after the report has come out, stating categorically that there was no proof of WMDs ever having been in Iraq. Explain it if you can, true believers...

I have a fire extinguisher in my house, although there may not be a fire.

I have a brain and no belief in there ever being WMD's... the un couldnt find them ... the US couldnt find them ... Sadham offered an election ... and Bush invaded anyway ... after bombing the place for 10 years ....kind of like a heavyweight boxer beating up a five year old girl .... after all they knew where every weapon was ...then hit them with a whole lot of stuff they could only ever be on the wrong side of .... poor buggers didnt have a fire extinguiser... or even water, consider yourself lucky
