And your confusion is what exactly? Do you know your history? A little over 1 year after getting involved in the war (April -1917), U.S. forces helped repell the Germans from France and in doing so brought the German's to Armitice in Compiegne (Nov - 1918).
Sep 12th, 1918 was a huge day for the allies and it was led by guess who? That's right - The good ole US of A with this assault:

MY point remains the same....America has ALWAYS been the country that spills it's blood to come to the rescue of countries under attack and when we pull them out of their hole, we liberate them NOT occupy them and then leave them to enjoy their wonderful land!
History is filled with examples of American "liberation" of not only our friend's homelands, but our enemies homelands as well. France (hell - most of Europe too), Japan, Granada, Haiti, Bosnia, Kuwait and Iraq are just a few examples of American assistance and liberation!
History has NO examples of were America went into battle with a country, won and then decided to stay and takeover or occupy that country. It just gets a bit old hearing all these extremists liberals distort the truth while ignoring history just to try to advance some damn political agenda. If that is not you, then great!
