No way. I would use the publicity I'd then gain to oppose them. Sorry Mom & Dad. But may the best (wo)man win. Always love though, like mojo said.

I wouldnt act AGAINST them. But i would make my displeasure known.

Well, it would depend partly upon how opposed we were in our political viewpoints. Mostly though, I'd just have to refuse to talk politics with him or her, otherwise we'd be bickering forever and our relationship would fall apart.
My parents would be horrible politicians. My mom would be rounding up the infidels and my dad would be giving away all of our money.
