I've been thinking of moving south for better money. But I have a bit of a criminal record to deal with. It was several years back when I was hard up for cash, and I actually got the idea from watching an old woman hiding groceries in her cart and not paying for them. So I tried it a few times and was getting really cocky, but on the third time, I was caught red handed and charged with shoplifting.

Hey, it was only some milk and sausages and bread and noodles and chocolate. Anyway, I went before provincial court and pleaded guilty and was discharged as it was my first offence.

My question to my American friends is this:

Is U.S. immigration really cracking down on degenerate scum like me? Would I later get deported if they found out I didn't tell them?

I don't THINK that Customs is that anal. I HOPE, anyway. Besides, considering the dreck of society we've taken off Uncle Fidel in the past two-plus decades, I don't think they can stand up with any seriousness and knock you aside for that.

Voted : You should be okay.
1) You're from Canada. They don't pick on Canadians too hard.
2) $12 at the worst here is a petty misdemeanor. They only worry if you've been convicted of a felony. And usually only if it's a violent one.
