It was several years back when I was hard up for cash, and I actually got the idea from watching an old woman hiding groceries in her cart and not paying for them. So I tried it a few times and was getting really cocky, but on the third time, I was caught red handed and charged with shoplifting. Hey, it was only some milk and sausages and bread and noodles and chocolate. Anyway, I went before provincial court and pleaded guilty and was discharged as it was my first offence. My question to my American friends is this: Is U.S. immigration really cracking down on degenerate scum like me? Would I later get deported if they found out I didn't tell them?
