Teachers - They are the professionals that shoulder the awesome responsibility of making sure our next generation is well educated and has the proper tools to exceed.
I agree with teachers! You want quality, well trained and educated people teaching our children, our future, you have to pay them well otherwise you will only inspire the dregs to come forward. Also, you would be surprised to know that police officers and firefighters only make about fifty to sixty thousand a year to risk their lives and handle all the painful, horrible situations that they do. But we make our athletes billionares.???
Computer Salesman, without us you would all be bored right now.

ABC - LOL!
Tads - "Also, you would be surprised to know that police officers and firefighters only make about fifty to sixty thousand a year to risk their lives and handle all the painful, horrible situations that they do." It doesn't surprise me a bit and that is exactly why I asked this question. I'm pretty sick of America's "celebrity" culture and feel things have become well out of hand. I won't even attend professional sporting events anymore. I just feel what's going on is that wrong and it's my only way to protest. :(
Engineering makes all of our lives easier and keeps our economy competitive. Where's my check, now?
I agree that cops and firefighters are underpaid. Teachers I believe are fairly compensated. I could have quite honestly gotten much of my education from books. I always hear people say teachers are underpaid but I totally disagree. strippers already make a ton of money. lawyers make too much money. athletes and anyone in the entertainment industry deserve to be shot in the face for accepting such ridiculous wages. those in menial physical labor like construction are far underpaid. quack quack quack. I think anyone making over 150k a year is just selfish to tell you the truth. this will conclude my horrifically opinionated wages banter. quack.
Nate - Yikes dude! LMAO!
Definately Teachers - In this country anyway. People think that just because they have longer holidays and shorter days they don't see what they have to do in their own time. My old lady has been a teacher all her working life, she spend at least three nights a week, writing reports, marking books and preparing lessons. I certainly couldn't spend 8 hours in an enclosed space with 30 children, I would go mad within a couple minutes. These people have a huge reponsibility with a nations children, they probably spend more time, and have a bigger impression than most parents would. Nurses also get payed a pitiful amount when compared to the amount of responsibility and stress they have to endure.

Very nicely said, my friend!

Computer programmers and electrical engineers -- they're the ones who will make the machines that replace teachers, fire fighters, police officers, doctors, computer salesmen, caregivers, cleaners, and strippers.
