Taking every single person I know into consideration, men would be smarter. But that's just with who I know. As a whole, I would say it evens out. Maybe it's saying something about me, but I know a lot of dumb chicks.
See I dunno. I'm talking about biological wiring here. I've read of smart women, one woman in particular is really smart, and she graduated at the top of her class from Harvard. But women are not encouraged to go into the sciences and such as men are. But some ppl say that men are smarter and that women are slightly weaker (mentally). I just want to know what ppl think. I don't think that men are smarter, not from what I can tell, but I want to hear people's real answers.

I would say even. The highest IQ on record was a female I think.
I'd like to believe that men and women are equal in intelligence, but if that were true, then how can we explain the mess that this planet is in under a primarily male-dominated society?
Intelligence if a function of how well you learn, and both sexes are capable of learning.

I don't think that one gender is more intelligent than the other, but generally (and this is a huge generalization) we differ in areas of expertise. Though men have produced more technological inventions and scientific discoveries, men have also created more misery and destuction in the world. Men have written the best music and painted the best paintings, but it was men who created idiotic concepts like Nazism, Communism, and slavery. So, I agree with thc2883 when he/she says "same average different variance."

Not aware of any gender-based differentiation.
Men dominate both extremes of the statistical IQ curve, thus more men are genius's and more are complete morons. Women tend to congregate around the average. This means that men will generally make the breakthroughs in any field, but women would do a more sensible job of managing the human race
Obviously men are smarter.
The areas that women excel in are, manipulation, cunning, emotional blackmail, deceitfulness, conning, financial ruination, etc.
