Definitely. An ever-growing number of life facets are falling under market/ consumerism drives, IMO.
Even more dangerously, it is becoming the shaping force controlling media ("news"), politics, etc.
Government interference and a decaying society are the true problems. The problem isn't that we're concerned with what will sell, it's that our method of determining value has been altered from its natural state.
Absolutely - market censorship controls art, news, anything that sells.
