COMMENTS:
The purpose of this law is to make it harder for American citizens to bring legitimate suits against corrupt corporations.
Have to admit, I don't see how changing venues weeds out frivolous claims. I do see how changing venues creates massive delays due to bottlenecks, posing an obstacle to all such lawsuits. BTW: What happened to the States' Rights movement and push away from Federalism that had been a major plank of the Republican Party for as long as I can remember? Or was that only a priority when it's convenient?
again, justice is for sale, one dollar at a time..
Interesting. It seems to fly in the face of the Republicans' aversion to Big Government. Don't get me wrong - I do hate bogus lawsuits.

I have to disagree with your theory Cathexis. Changing venues will help because Federal courts will not be as partial as state courts. Right now lawyers state shop for particular courts that they know will rule in their favor. The law will not cause delays and bottlenecks, because illegitimate law suits won't be as numerous and will go away. Also you have to think to yourself-why are lawyers against this law? I'd prefer to think that it will make it more difficult for American Citizens to bring illegitimate suits against anyone.
I don't agree mojo, because they aren't enlarging the Federal Court System.
ceej: What you say might ahve merit ... if it wasn't limited to only one type of lawsuit. Can't that argument be applied to most lawsuits filed at the State level?
