WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRACTION - THE MOST DANGEROUS IN GEORGE W. BUSH'S ARSENAL?

[+] ballot by mojo

Two examples:

CRISIS: 9/11/2001. We were told Osama Bin Laden and the Taliban were responsible. We sent troops into Afghanistan to root him out and dismantle the Taliban.
DISTRACTION: Saddam Hussein and the 'weapons of mass destruction.' The former had nothing to do with 9/11, though Bush always linked the two in his speeches and press conferences; the latter were never found. However, we committed to a war with Iraq on that false premise, sacrificing a hundred thousand civilian Iraqi lives and over 1,000 American lives - and counting.

CRISIS: Healthcare in the U.S. At least 40 million people are currently without health insurance in our country. Medicare does not cover the cost of medication for seniors. Insurance rates and doctors' fees are skyrocketing. U.S.-manufactured pharmaceuticals are the costiest in the world, forcing many people to choose between eating or taking their meds.
DISTRACTION: GWBush's manufactured Social Security 'crisis' (which even a large number of his fellow Republicans do not agree is a crisis).

Other manufactured distractions include: the issue of gay marriage, prayer in schools, and the size of flags displayed in schoolrooms. It seems like we could all agree on the important issues - like safe-sex education to curb the AIDS, and prevent unwanted pregnancies (THUS ABORTION), and keeping our environment clean - so our air and water don't make us sick.

Do you agree that these weapons of mass destraction are Bush's most effective weapon?

(If you agree, can you add more ?)

Yes
No
Tort reform
Social security when Medicare is a bigger problem

^ Ha! What a great sense of humour.

Bush's common sense ... isn't.

Common sense = being able to distract people with less important issues in order to avoid addressing the major ones?
by mojo on Tue Mar 01, 05 12:22pm [+]

GWB and common sence? isnt that an oxymoron?

Yes, I do think the millions were distracted. But that doesn't make them bad people.
by mojo on Tue Mar 01, 05 12:29pm [+]

Perhaps Bush himself is the most deadly weapon.

Millions were clearly distracted by his faith. They believed that they needed to vote for "the man of God" "the man who is opposed to gay marriage" They were also distracted by the journalists he purchased with taxpayer money.
They were distracted by all the elevated terror alerts.

What are you talking about Qui Qui I love my fellow Americans but I see the lives of the Iraqis as valuable as ours. American lives aren't the only ones that matter. Not to mention you all missed the whole point of who he was running against he didn't need to distract the public , I voted for him & I wasn't distracted, I specifically got registered to vote for the first time & it wasn't because I was distracted.

40 million? I thought it was 60 million. Politicians often misinform the public. For example, in high school, there were so many crisies between the conservative government and the school board. The schools themselves were in no crisis, but the government kept claiming that they were in a crisis, as a way to raise taxes. It's classic.

Now he is prepping us for the next distraction by setting the stage with Iran and Syria. The man has no morals.
