COMMENTS:
Bad idea. Introduces a slippery slope of judgment (i.e., where to draw the line for living; who judges, what criteria, biases and agendas, etc).

I'd feel much more comfortable putting energy and resources into addressing afflictions.

I agree with cath. Bad idea to euthanize based on physical defects. Although if you were to prevent them from reproducing and spreading their defective genes that'd be fine.

Of course it makes sense in some cases. There is a child in a houston hospital which is going to die (his lungs won't grow). There is no question of it, he's going to die, no miracle cure no treatement. He's in incredibly agony and will be increasingly in pain until he dies in a few months, and of course the hospital is paying for the whole thing out of pocket. I have to think in cases like that the more humane and rational thing to do *would be euthanasia, save the patient alot of suffering and use the funds for people who have a chance.

I think it is a bad Idea, my niece has servere learning difficulties (pc), she is 21, but has the mind of a two year old, and cronic epilepsy, but she has a good live and is loved in just the same way as an able bodied person. Her family dont see here a a burdon, far from it.

I'm thinkin that euthanizing a baby is murder, eh?

No. Not only does it raise the issue of delineating where the protocols begin and end, it's also offensive to my personal faith (never thought I'd catch myself using THAT word). I believe, among a few other things, that life begets hope, and I have to believe that you have to hold onto life, no matter how tough or painful it may seem. I've personally been in a position where a doctor advised me, before a surgery, that I get Last Rites, because he didn't hold out much hope for me surviving. That was twelve years ago. I THINK I'm still here.

Not any different than abortion. We wouldn't want to interfere with a womans right to murder.

I like the idea of infant euthanasia, only I would take it a step further and euthanize all infants, regardless of disability. Most of them grow up to be slaves of some sort who end up dead anyway and only perpetuate the cycle of slavery.

Well fuck it lets abort up to 120 months. The left embraces a culture of death.
