WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE NEW CONDITIONS CONGRESS HAS ADDED TO THE CHAPTER 7 BANKRUPTCY (B-K) LAWS?

Most of us have been financially strapped at one time or another in our lifetimes except for the few who were born with gold and silver spoons in their mouths as in Paris and Nicky Hilton! LOL Most of us know what it is like to be incessantly hounded by bill collectors while we are at home and at work. Bankruptcy (B-K) has served as a "safety net" for those who have had catastrophic illnesses as in heart attacks or strokes as well as for those who were seriously injured in major accidents and those who were criminally assaulted and battered, all of which resulted in lengthy hospital stays while all the while being either medically uninsured or at least underinsured resulting in extremely high medical bills which they cannot possibly afford to pay. The B-K protects the debtor and his or her family not only from harassment by creditors and bill collectors but also from being legally stripped by creditors and bill collectors of even the basic necessities of life and subsequently being made wards of the state. What will happen to cash-strapped debtors now that the reforms in the B-K laws are about to become effective shortly after our illustrious President Bush signs them into law? Keep yourself up-to-date by reading pertinent news reports as they become available for details; they may shock some of you out of complacency! Most of us already know that a Chapter 7 B-K is going to be far more difficult than ever before.

Credit card users fall into a different category. Many of them use their credit cards until they are all "maxed out" and then file a Chapter 7 B-K to stop their creditors from hounding them and to give themselves a "fresh start." This really cannot be condoned because the credit card users may well have motivated the banks and other credit card issuers to lobby in Congress for about four years to eventually get the new conditions (actually a lot more red tape) added to the B-K laws.

Beware: creditors and collection agencies may well be emboldened by those new reforms and they are just biding their time to move faster than ever before to enforce payment of debts including taking legal action much more rapidly than before! Business for attorneys and auctioneers will probably be better than ever!

B y the way, my choice of yellow for this ballot color has its innuendo which I am sure that most of you can easily figure out! LOL OK, I've had my say so let's hear yours!

Yet another blow to the common man, courtesy of Your Federal Guv'mint. This will basically be a body blow to John and Jane Public, just trying to last from paycheck to paycheck, while the people who really need to be taken to task will skate.
