HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE LONE FEMALE DEPUTY?

[+] ballot by larrynelmira
created Sun Mar 13, 05

Do you think it was a good idea for them to put a lone female deputy described as being a 115 pound grandmother, to be the only one escorting a 6'7", 275 pound inmate, who shot a judge, court reporter and others, after his escape from her?

It may not be politically correct for me to say this, but I think it was stupid for the Alanta law enforcement to do this.

What do you think?

yes , stupid

COMMENTS:
don't get me wrong, not blaming her, but her supervisors, and would feel the same if they put a 115 pound lone male in charge of him too.

Correct procedure was obviously not followed. She should have been walking at least 2 to 3 steps behind him, remaining vigilant, always certain to have enough time to draw and cover the suspect should he lunge at her. Quite obviously she did not follow procedures, and it's her fault all of this happened. I don't want to seem heartless here, but she isn't the one I feel bad for, I feel bad for the judge, the other deputy, and the federal agent that all lost their lives because of her careless negligence in not adhering to obvious guidelines for transporting prisoners.

we do not know what happened jappy, thanks to the supreme court, they were not even allowed to hand cuff him
by larrynelmira on Sun Mar 13, 05 10:03am [+]

That was just plain stupid.. Obviously a woman is no match for some big ass dude who was HANDCUFFED IN THE FRONT. Of course he could easily kick her ass, which he did. Just plain stupid.

Seriously,, if it was a guy with a normal build in there with that lunatic,, chances are he wouldn't have tried anything. People can be so damn stupid......Its common sense
by RawIron on Sun Mar 13, 05 10:54am [+]

Well, I know that she got overpowered and shot in the head. So obviously she was too close to him and not ready when he attacked her.
by jappy on Sun Mar 13, 05 11:23am [+]

WHY wasn't the guy handcuffed? That was a HUGE mistake, and I didn't see an explanation for it in the report I read. What a total clusterf**k.
by mojo on Sun Mar 13, 05 1:37pm [+]

I guess I was wrong about the hand cuffs, I guess I misunderstood the report., But still
by larrynelmira on Sun Mar 13, 05 2:28pm [+]

Actually, he was a scant 6'1" and 200, but it was supreme stupidity. I've run across deputies I could take out, and a good flight of stairs is enough to send me to the showers.
by Truthseeker013 on Sun Mar 13, 05 6:20pm [+]

All the thoughts and prayers in the world to her, of course. Not her fault that she's operating under a Keystone Kops law-enforcement system.
by Truthseeker013 on Sun Mar 13, 05 6:21pm [+]

Is she related to the lone ranger?
by xxxxxxxx on Sun Mar 13, 05 8:20pm [+]

Of course it was a bad idea. However if they had done anything about it, like getting a reasonably sized man to escort this guy, then she would have sued the state for discrimination and retired a millionare. I guess political correctness can be lethal, hopefully people will come to their senses soon so we can avoid more of these tragedies.
