John McCusker Jr died in San Diego and Bishop Brom ruled that all 98 of the Catholic Churchs is San Diego county and Imeperial county were barred from allowing services for this man. He was from a devout Catholic family and gave much in the way of charity.

Why is it that if a priest fondles a little boy, they cover that up and move on, but someone that is respected in the community owns a bar that has a "gay" night then he is barred from the church (but the priest who molested boys is still allowed in)

Did the Catholic Church make the right decision in not allowed the recently departed man to have his services in the Church?

(by the way an Episcopal church is allowing the services, they said "no matter where you are in your journey to find God, you are accepted here" or something like that. Nice of them.

The Bishop did the right thing
The Bishop shouldnt have barred anything
I just don't care

Typcial conservative institutional hypocrisy: they can do anything, and it's okay, because the rules only apply to their servants.

And they ask me why I left the Church twenty years ago...

Talk about double standards !!! Its hypocrisy at its best, and all to common with relegion. Do as I say and not as I do, is nothing short of a dictatorship.

Very good question, that the catholic church should address. I'm sure they'll get around to it one of these days. They declared not too long ago to that maybe the earth isn't the center of the universe, that's progress.

Because unfortunately, many of them are religious fundies who can't think rationally.

Shit like this makes me embarrassed to be part of the Catholic church.
