Should we in this country execute the elderly for committing murder? Many of them are less aware than 16 year olds of whats going on around them. Many have alzheimers and other degenerative neural diseases. Should we set a cap on the maximum age a person can be put to death for murder? *Note: this isn't a pro/anti death penalty thread, there are plenty of those. So please try to keep it about this issue and not how much you hate the death penalty.

Absolutely, I'd say the age should be 70. Think about it. It would give us a reason to live to 70. Make it to 70 and you can get even without fear of being executed.

It depends if they have any physical or mental disabilities. If they are 100 years old and are perfectly aware of what they do then...In simple terms as Robbespierre said in his French accent "Bring out ze guillotine".
