SHOULD CHILDREN BE TOLD THAT SANTA ISN'T REAL?

[+] ballot by LCD
created Wed Dec 03, 03

In Florida, a elementary school teacher told a kid that santa doesn't exist. Parent complained. The teacher is repremanded, and they are telling the kids that they contacted st.nick at the north pole, and that he dropped everything and will come and visit the kids. They will follow that up with a "visit from the santa" at school. What do you think? Should the teacher lie to the kids, and say santa exist?

Yes, they should be told the truth
No, lie to them and tell them santa exists
yes, stop brain washing them
Why lie if asked? The truth will be told evenually
When they're about 10
don't tell kids anything about Santa

That teacher should be fired. What a uber bitch to ruin a kids childhood. These a kids, not 21 years old. If I met that bitch I would dragon kick her through a wall and break her hip.

That teacher is the only one who *shouldn't* be fired. There's no excuse for brainwashing kids with false beliefs, even something as innocuous as Santa Claus.

I don't believe in lying to children. All you accomplish by lying to your kids about Santa is A) make them think that they get presents on Christmas just *because*, and they just deserve them because they just do. One should teach them that Christmas is a time of sharing and that Mommy and Daddy trade presents with you to show that they care. "Santa" promotes selfishness in children. I'm sure you've seen the tantrums. And B) it shows your kids eventually that you can't be counted on to always tell them the truth.

Why would I do this to my kids? A fake present-giver doesn't make your youth any better. In fact, if kids can be taught the real meaning of Christmas from early on - love and sharing - I bet their childhoods will be much happier.

Also I'm against mythological indoctrination of children. You're just setting them up to be idiots who will believe in nonsensical myths just because someone told them to. (Religious nutcases)

There is a Santa Claus, dumbass. Haven't you ever heard a man names Saint Nicholas? When he died he had to go somewhere. So technically, He does exist,

I know santa is real because when I was a kid my dad told me he saw him in our living room AND he left cookie crumbs all over the place that I had to clean up,what more proof do you all need?
