Life is so cheap that its impossible to put your self in their situation. A friend of mine worked over there and was sent their by an american consortium to develop housing in ghana (not known for trouble) The equipment turned up the forest was cleared (of people too) the ground leveled and then abandoned, money having been made. People being murdered and shot was a daily occurence. going out required 2-3 bodyguards and even then that was no guarentee. My mate tho possibly one of the most capable men i know spent most of his sleep time `under` the bed. I suppose if gun shots were goin off all night thats where i would sleep too. The point is how do you keep peace in a situation like this? Who`s the enemy when all are just as capable of killing each other? Whats ironic about the congo and most of africa. Something Herzog either doesn`t know or has ommited to mention (suprise suprise) Is that its hard to get anyone convicted of war crimes because the ICC (international criminal court) is being opposed be the bush regime. I suppose its because if they had that kind of power they could then take the us to court for war crimes too. Have the un killed 100,000 innocent civilians herzog? dont think to hard the answer is no. "

Sorry mobs, but most people are against you on this. African lives aren't cheap, at least not cheaper than anyone elses. You are a sad person to think the way you do.
Actually mobs you should have kept quiet, then not as many people would have known what a twisted little racist you are. I wonder mobs, whos live are worth something in your opinion? British no doubt, how about other europeans? Certainly not africans, arabs only when it's convienent. Are asians worth keeping alive? How about south americans. Maybe your misconstruing what the intent of Mobsie666's statement was:

He's not saying that their lives aren't as relevant as ours, all he's saying is that since death and violence are of daily occurences there. The phrase 'life is cheap' is in reference to the cycle of poverty and violence. What he was saying wasn't meant to be racist.

Wait a second here. That is not the meaning I got from it. After reading what Mobsie wrote, I think he meant that there is so much opression and killing in the places he mentioned that the people DOING the killing and the opressing do not value human life, so to them, they don't think twice about taking a life, so they therefore do not value life, so to them it is cheap in the sense that they only care about themselves and will kill without hesitation. Is that accurate?
