IS HIP HOP CULTURE INHERENTLY HATEFUL, VIOLENT AND INTOLERANT?

It may just be my own observation but I find that regardless of the race of the members of this culture they seem to be intolerant of white culture, women and homosexuals. Rap music vividly describes violence against all these segments of society, so it’s appeal to intolerant people may be inherent. What do you think? Is Hip Hop culture inherently hateful, violent and intolerant?

Yes
No

Rap is the expression of ones own life experiences, regarding society at large. Not all rap music contains violence, hate, intolerance and all that is negative. You have rock and heavy metal music that can be interpreted as intolerance, hateful, violence against women and minorities as well, especially heavy metal music...

BBC's comments and rap have much in common ...

incessant and annoying themes that never seem to deviate.

The point of the ballot BBC was the question of whether the hip hop culture was hatefull, violent and intolerant as a whole. It goes without saying that there are some exceptions. It's funny how you go out of your way rationalize hip hop culture when you know damn well it's nothing more than primitive, lowest common denominator shite with a violent and irresposable message that you seem quite willing to ignore and is overall a bad influence on teens.

Couldn't help but notice your double standard for black music and white music BBC,just thought I'd point that out.

HipHop is not just black music that we love to hate
- it's black music *on the criminal fringe* that we need to hate.

I LOVE BLACK MUSIC. Shower me with James Brown, and earthy Mississippi JAZZ, Diana Ross..the list goes on and on.

But get it straight, all you PC types out there,
HipHop is downright and intentionally ANTI-SOCIAL.
It is the "muzik" of the criminal and wanna-be criminal BLACK SUB-CULTURE that infests and infects your inner cities.
