The Pope was against the use of condoms, presumably because he believed in the credo 'be fruitful and multiply'. But worldwide - Africa especially - there are so many people with AIDS that they only spread death through unprotected sex. Isn't it time to revise the thinking on this subject, before the 'culture of life' becomes instead a 'culture of death'?

Yes, time to wake up and smell the coffee.
No, keep the status quo.

Yes, not to mention over population, poverty, and the threat of famine. It's time the church took a realistic look at the world they live in.

Well its a no brainer for sure, but if religion is based on what god said, then who is the pope to change it.

I saw a comic on this: on one side was a picture of a huge crowd of people with the caption 'be fruitful and mulitply'. On the other side was a picture of a tiny pile of food with the caption 'now divide'. Simple but to the point. Strict adherence to the catholic churches doctrine will either create poverty or continue it's existence, they admitted the earth may not be the center of the universe I don't see why allowing condoms is such a big deal.

The Catholic Church thrives on poverty. I know firsthand.

does this come fromt the "dont spill thy seed" or something. Because I bet you most of the Catholic Clergy has spilled some of his seed, some on his hand, some on someone elses hand, mouth, chin etc.

Once again, I agree with herzog.
