They are jealous. I just laugh.
I think you may be right RawIron.
^High 5's both of you. In all seriousness, it should either stop or be mixed in evenly with all the bad that the rest of the world does.
It depends who is doin it, many users on this site do it to piss Americans off that may have bashed their country. Personally I like to do it in fun as all the users know me anyway and know its all in fun, just as they bug me cause Im Canadian, if you think the ballot is purely to be rude, dont respond.

Yes, it does make me sick. I don't agree with everything our government does, but I still love my country.
maybe you shoudl stop bashing other countries and possibly they would be nicer to you. by the way im not anti american but it is very tiresome to see the way you ridicule foreigners in your media
^How many on this site are in the media?
Yeah. I kind of wonder who these type of people blamed all their problems on before the US come into power. I guess the jews.
They (and you) need to conceptually separate the country and its "leaders."
If what you mean by bashing is criticism of the things that the US does, then I would say no. I don't believe in "my country, right or wrong".
Im not sure if I have ever BASHED America, I have criticised its leaders for taking the world in a scary direction. That is different from bashing Americans, who on the whole are just as decent as any other nations denizens.
Well, all I can say is, to those who simply bash America for being America(not those who have a gripe with a particular issue, but just hate America), Id bet none of em would say such things to any Americans face on here lol. Same applies to anyone who bashes anyone else because of their nationality.
I dont hate Americans, some of my best friends are from the US.

there are some americans who bash other countries, it's usually the same four or five, but american bashing has been done by MOST non americans at one time or another on here.
I just feel sorry for a lot of Americans, they dont even realise there is a whole world of beautiful things out there. Not just potential immigrants, dictatorships, and lots of people with bad teeth as many seem to think.
Then again i guess they probably think the same way as the citizens of the roman empire would have, or the British empire or any society lucky enough to be experiencing temporary world domination. The trouble is it never lasts..
This comment is for Preparation_H. I don't know if you comment was meant for me but if it was I just thought I would say that I do not in any way bash other countries. I'm just tired of people bashing the USA. It's a great country who has done a lot of great things for a lot of people. Of course it's not perfect, who or what is? But I think people should appriciate all the great things the US has done.
Conservatives who whine about people bashing the US don't seem to have much problem bashing any nation that doesn't suck up to Bushy and his cronies.
in some cases cranky you are right
and I don't have a problem with Bush bashing or policy bashing, it's when people bash america simply because that's the thing to do these days, and they know that most non americans and even some americans, will agree with them, even if they don't have a point.
"Great country"!! Tch... Perhaps people would be kinder to the US if its citizens didn't feel the need to push their self-satisfaction & patriotism down our throats the whole time? Because basically, I suspect the rest of the world couldn't give a flying fuck about how highly you regard your own country.
I could make a ballot about the universe and someone would somehow find a way to bash america in it. It's not just when americans push their patriotism down throats as you call it,many blame all americans for what Bush is doing, even though 50 million votes out of 300 million people does not make a majority.
and some users search the internet to find neg things about usa so they can post, I'm sure if I wanted to do that with other countries I could also find neg things, but have better things to do then purposely seek out stories about neg. things in other nations.
And dingle, I could give a fuck less what you have to say and, before I came to this site, my friends and I NEVER discussed foreign opinions of America. If you or anyone else dont like us, all you can really do is complain lol, because no1 ever does anything about it.
Cletus: I bet the Romans used to think that. And a pound to a pinch of dogshit says you won't be around as long as them, boyo ;-) Larry: it's pretty rare to find other nationalities banging on about how wonderful they think they are. It's one thing to *think* you're the best, it's another thing entirely for a nation to inflict its narcissism on others, to the point where SOME Americans claim that their unpopularity is due to jealousy (yeah right, as if), and even go so far as to claim that everyone wants to be like them (I refer you to numerous comments in any number of old ballots...).
I know those people and those comments you are talking about dingle, but it's the minority on here. I've spoken to some brits who think they are the greatest and that is fine with me for them to say that. I think citizens of all countries should feel their nation is the best. But as I said, I have noticed certain users who just love to find fault with us. blow about our president, and some of our policies, that's fine, but don't lump 300 million people together , because we do not all think alike
I am from the USA and if you are a terrorist we will find and kill you. Every other nation seems to be afraid of these punks that cover their faces. "Hey Punk, is this your lucky day?"
I'm aware of that, larry, and I seem to get on fine with the more socially-mature US contributors. And I hope the US contributors that I *do* get on with realise that they're not in the firing line, my intention is only to topple pompous flag-waving buffoons.
This comment is for Cranky. For the second time I do not nor have I ever bashed any other country. And I can't speak for all Americans but I would think that most of them don't bash other countries either unless there is good reason.
