Here in Northern VA, it's suddenly becoming the norm. They ask for your credit card number before they'll refill your script. Has anyone else noticed this trend?

(I feel like sending these same doctors a bill for the time they keep me waiting next time I make an appointment.)

Yes, it's happened to me.
No, it has not happened to me.

Coming attractions...

No. And if they DID ask for it, I'd question it all the way to the top. I don't use a credit card to purchase my meds, so why does he need to see mine? If it's an identity issue, then here's my state-issued driver's license. Any MORe issues? Then kindly give me my scrip back, that I might take my business elsewhere. if it IS a coming attraction, then it's time for a little social revolution...

You only paid $15.00? Here in the Rockies, it's up to the price of an office visit: $70.00. Maybe I'll move to Virginia...

Something else you may have noticed, Mojo, is that you can't get in to see a specialist without being "referred" by your family practitioner? Nasty business, but if you want to play, you've gotta pay.

I understand the argument that they spent eight years in medical school, etc., etc. But how many times to we have to compensate them for this education?

Interesting ballot. Thanks.

Unbelievable. Things just get better and better, inevitably...

yes that happened to me but it is more than 15. There is some stupid rule that says that doctors must sign-off on prescriptions after either 6 months or 1 year. I have been on these medicines for 3 years and it pisses me off. The pharmacy just faxes the doctor who okays the prescription, I don't even get anything out of it. I doubt the doctor even looks at the prescritption or reviews the circimstances, because it is such a basic, common medicine.
