COMMENTS:
no, no comparison at all. here on b&W I get neg. karma for my remarks on Christianity. But that is about as far as the persecution goes with me anyways, actually I get more flack on this site for being a Christian than I ever experienced in real world
I laughed a lot when I saw this ballot title. Very funny. It's a bit like asking "Were the Nazi Party the real persecuted group in Europe during WW2?" Where do people get their strange ideas?
I agree wide
No they're not. If you pray at work or school, that's your prerogative. You're allowed to do that. If they took that away from you (and neither liberals nore conservatives are looking to do that), then one can claim persecution. But when one group has more of an influence on government than any other, they can hardly claim to be persecuted.
But the Nazi party made many Germans believe that they were persecuted. Same with these crazy christians. They have their membership believing that their the persecuted when acually they're the prosecutors.
I am both Orthodox Roman Catholic and politically conservative and I am not persecuted in the United States. See I don't think that anyone is actively persecuted. There are groups of people who have a historic beef, and others who aren't exactly treated right but they are not persecuted. THIS IS ONLY MY VIEW. So don't give me negative 5 karma because you don't agree with it.
I know, I know! It's mad isn't it? You can hardly be persecuted when the President of the USA is a deluded, fundie fanatic. Sure, people bitch and whine about christianity (I am guilty of it all the time) but persecuted? Not for a few centuries at least.
"I am both Orthodox Roman Catholic and politically conservative and I am not persecuted in the United States" Just on B&W.
The Christian Right, "persecuted?" Give me a break. What I see and believe, Fiddle,is that the leaders of the Evangelical Christian Community and others of the same stripe, love to talk about how they are hated and persecuted, not because it is true (do some folks despise them and their views? Of course (with cause, I'd say -- intolerant and wishing to impose their views on all of us)but because it is useful to them to say so. Are they actually persecuted? Like I said, give me a break. The little "persecution" they endure is brought on by themselves when they picket abortion clinics and hold up those signs (like, "Jesus Hates Fags," or "You are going to burn in hell!") in the presence of other demonstrators with opposing opinions. From a psychological perspective, a group that is convinced that it is persecuted bonds more closely. The sum total of persecution, from where I sit, is done by the Christian right. Can't imagine anyone not seeing this, but there it is. Thanks for your fascinating ballot.
Vapidity should be a crime!!^
"Vapidity should be a crime!!" by pene_palmada on May 04, 2005 We all wish it was too pene because you would have been tried and sentenced a long time ago.
In our society Christians are not persecuted.

Strangely, some people seem to perceive "disagreement" as "persecution," IMO.
^Need he say more?
Yes Pene, IT SHOULD BE A CRIME! So glad you finally want to confess and be prosecuted to full extent of the law! The system goes much easier when you confess your crime, so confessing to "vapidity," was a good move on your part. Very proud of you! :) ps, what a very odd word for someone like you to use...vapidity...nope, just does not sound right coming from you.
Your right they are persecuted but they (well the neo conservatives not the true Christians) persecute more groups. Did you know the police are now trained to view Christians and anyone who believes in the bill of rights as terrorists?

Being Roman Catholic does not necessarily make you Christian. Also, equating christianity with the nazis of WWII? Widhead once again shows the space between the ears has little there.
Some of the religious things ppl have done over the past 200 yrs are being challenged. You have regular christians with traditional conservative views and you have what I call Taliban christians like Reverend Phelps with their God hates Fags and God hates America signs. I'd like to wipe out the latter.
