TOP 10 DESIRED REFORMS TO US LABOR LAWS

[+] serious ballot by Cathexis
created Fri May 06, 05

The US Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) establishes minimum wage, overtime pay, record- keeping, and child labor standards affecting full-time and part-time workers.

However, few changes have been made in the past decade or so that actually benefit or protect Labor. Most changes have steadily eroded existing rights to allow Business to hold more power over employees.

What changes or additions would you like to see considered to the FLSA?

Limit intrusion of work demands into personal life
Curbs on at-will Downsizings
Adapt Unemployment Insurance to the times
Strengthen protections ofr protected classes
Limit unpaid overtime, even for exempt employees
Reclassify exemptions so as to not punish Labor
free beer
Living wage should be required
A more universal payscale
Repeal the law
Vote Democratic

well the next time a ceo terminates thousands of workers then flies off to vermont where his 15-20 million dollar "ski lodge" is being constructed, both he and the shareholders should be shot. that really happened.

I sort of agree with exarmydude.

The best thing to do would be to repeal the law altogether.
