DO WRONGS HAVE ACCEPTABLE LEVELS

I know this person who pretends to be holier than thou, (no, not talking about myself)

The person receives section 8 housing, and she picked up a house cleaning job on the side, and said she would not report it.

Is that acceptable, Is that just as bad as robbing a bank? She is taking money from section 8 that according to regulations , under false pretences.

What it seems to me she is saying, some fraud or unlawful activities are ok.

What say you?

yes some are acceptable
no, it's wrong also

COMMENTS:
The government and their agencies who are in the pocket of corporate CEOs pull this s#!t on a much larger level amounting in billions of dollars in their favor.

More power to her. It sounds like she works hard for a living and deserves to keep what she earns. If she doesn't do it, some illegal will.

Let her at least have the chance to save up enough so that she can get out of that section 8 housing.

And robbing a bank I would not consider a crime either, compared what they do to their clients. F**k 'em.

Tough question, getting into Absolute or Relative morality. I suppose a lot depends on where ones' priorities and values really are: On being a "Good Person," themselves, on helping others, on helping themselves, on their own vision of "Justice" ...

I know it sounds like I'm judging her, but really, she does speak alot about people who she considers, "sin", that's the only reason I put the holier than thou part.

When self-interests and values collide, the winner is easy to predict, though for most of us this doesn't reach to felonies.

How many of us wouldn't steal food to feed our starving children?

Lots of variablity in moral levels when it comes to self interest.

Interesting ballot. Thanks.

Perhaps I'm not the best person to ask about moral issues because I believe that providing you DON'T HURT OTHER PEOPLE, you do what you have to in order to survive.

Don't you agree,Tadema, that there are bound to be occasions where you necessarily hurt people in order to achieve some higher purpose, like stealing to feed your starving children, or protecting your life, et at.

It depends. Is she good looking?

I was taught that a wrong is a wrong is a wrong. I've fugded the limits a time or three personally, as I'm sure we all have for various reasons, good, bad or otherwise. I know that God has all the account books, and that it'll all be balanced in the End.
