As attractive as your proposition is, if we are to remain free, we must tolerate even the intolerants (that is a tough twist there). I have argued here somewhere that the only groups we dare not tolerate are the enemies of tolerance, and that if they ever win, it is over for freedom. But, I guess I'm not for putting them on the reservation just yet. Ask me again next month.:>)

Oh yeah, what a brilliant idea! Call yourself a liberal and then propose a plan that is the complete opposite of liberal beliefs. No, not a good idea. Segregating anyone based on race, religion, political beliefs, etc., is wrong. In a free society like America, you have to take the good with the bad (and that of course means your interpretation of what is "bad"). If a fundamental Christian proposed doing that to people who are gay, how would you feel? I take this stuff seriously...so if you meant it as a joke, sorry to be so intense :)
If this ballot was toward any other group on the planet , the ACLU would have been called in
ACLU bashing... It is so convenient but so wrong in reality. The ACLU merely attempts to make sure that people's civil rights are not violated. They have defended religious people and organizations many times. They have also opposed them, but this is when the majority attempts to impose it's religious ideas on the rest. One of the main points of the bill of rights was ensure there was not a state religion. So defending that idea is a very American and conservative thing to do. I find it quite ironic that so many people think the ACLU is an evil organization when all they try to do is protect civil rights. By doing things like opposing the Patriot Act, making sure people are read their rights if arrested, and so on. It seems when people get upset it is because the ACLU opposes any state sanction of religion. Which is great in my book as I don't belong to the majority's religion.

The ACLU has done more to protect the rights of the religious in the country than all the conservatives on B&W times a million. The ACLU is a great organization.
no one questioned that on this ballot cranky, the double standards are so funny on this ballot, talk about something that has nothing to do with the ballot so you can ignore a fact few made here.

I know cathexis, I was not saying that, my remark about aclu was in favor of them, that if this ballot was about any other group, the (POSTERS) on this site would have called the aclu, it was a sarcastic remark about the ballot maker and the people posting, not the aclu
when a ballot was made about child molesters being sent to a colony of their own, they got more support for their civil rights then what christians got on this ballot

Some of the fundies like to blow things up (gay nightclubs, abortion clinics, etc). Do we REALLY want to give them a CAUSE?
I do admit, it would be pretty f***ing hard to enforce...you can't tell who's a fundy just by looking at them...
