COMMENTS:
I think you have made a selective reading of the report. This is as much an indication of the failure of the US military to secure these sites as anything. It is very disturbing that this material has not been secured. In fact, since the UN inspectors have not been allowed to return and do their job, they had to use satellite imagery to make this assessment. Much of this material has dual uses: it can be used for legitimate purposes as well as nefarious ones..
Well, it wouldn't be the FIRST batch of weapons of any kind to vanish while in Iraq. Let's not forget that there was a weapons depot that the Army found just after we entered Iraq. The unit that found it put on the requisite tags and seals, informed theit command base that they'd found them, then went on fighting. When our weapons inspectors came by to have a look-see, GUESS WHAT? The place was EMPTY. And I don't recall an explanation for it ever being provided.
I don't believe I conveyed my thoughts on the matter Fiddlefaddle so why are you replying to comments I haven't even made yet?
The anti-war people will never change their tune, no matter what.
The pro-war Bushy people will never change their tune, either. The problem is, they tend to play theirs on a butt trumpet.
They've been looted from secure depots. What else are you to conclude?
CI: so weapons that never existed have been stolen? How does that work?
So what you are now saying is, the war in Iraq is now NOT a war of liberation and now it was a war to relieve of (as yet unfound) WMD's? And they accused Kerry of flip flopping. This seems to me, to be an exercise in the right chasing their own tails.
Steel: anti-iraq war users criticized bush for not finding wmds, now they're criticizing him for losing the iraqi wmds after we found them. Doesn't seem like you can have it both ways.
herzog You guys didn't find those WMD, they were seccured by the U.N which was part of the U.N sansions. They were looted after the U.N left and the U.S took over. Is anyone saying anything different?
U.N sanctions
Its just a desperate last gambit of the right to justify a deeply unpopular conflict that has cost lives and more importantly to conservatives MONEY.
Fuck this bickering shit. Let's go about the business of training Iraqi's to secure their own country asap.
ceejjj, i jump to conclusions!
