WILL THE UNITED STATES SOMEDAY BE JUST ANOTHER COUNTRY?

So far, in civilized human history, all nations which became great and rich empires eventually went into decline and became much like the other countries which adjoined them. Examples are Greece, Rome, Egypt, Turkey (Ottoman Empire), and England (British Empire).

This has also happened on a smaller scale, where rich, up-and-coming countries devolved into poorer, less progressive nations. Argentina is a prime example. One hundred years ago, Buenos Aires was the richest city in the New World, nicknamed Paris of the Americas. Then came a wave of economic collapses and political coups which turned the country into the perpetual mess it has now been for decades.

What this ballot is asking, however, is that from the status of the dominant economic and political superpower that the US is today, will America eventually fade and become, politically and economically, more like an average nation.

Yes
No
It's just another country to me now :o)
i hope so

Not at it's current size but when the world is more integrated and the developing world ..well developed, the disparity in power won't be so great.

Not in the history books of Iraq , as much as you leftist hate to admit it, the U.S. is the leading reason they have the vote now. (You know instead of the mass murdering sadist freak show with the saggy undies)
& f/y/i that is sort of the point of fighting for the freedoms of others , believe it or not they are humans too, with the same right to feel pride in the country.

Wow, I thought we went over there to fight to get rid of WMD's that the terrorists were gonna get. But I guess Big Brother or, err, excuse me, I mean GWB. is saying it was for freedom now. Can we say "1984"?

Now back to the point of the topic, yeah, of course some day the US will be "just another country". But I wouldn't hold my breath that that day comes in your lifetime or your childrens lifetime.

But infamy lives on forever. Caligula, Ghengis Khan, Hitler...the list goes on.

Maybe to Americans the United States seems to be glorified as 'the' country. But to those of us that live in other places with the same standard of living and wealth, if not better, it's always been just another country. American propaganda does wonders within its own borders, it doesn't work elsewhere.
