should "gitmo" in guantamino bay, cuba. be closed down.
yes, we know that the americans have said that they are "safer" with it open, and that al-qaeda members are locked up there- way from the public. that "may be" true. but what about the "innocent" people there?

can you imagine being locked up in a dark cell, abused, tortured, deprived of sleep, using the toilet, food, water, your family, your freedom for over "3 WHOLE YEARS" without being "CHARGED" with a crime.

I may be anti-american, but even you can't agree with this.

HOW COULD HUMAN-BEINGS TREAT OTHER HUMAN-BEINGS THIS WAY?

I'm as outraged as you are at this, and I want the place shut down as well, and the "detainees" allowed to face justice, if such an animal exists in the U.S. Government. We can't stand up and bellow to the world that we're the defenders of freedom and the purveyors of democracy, and then blatantly stomp on the rights of others because of the threat we PERECIVE them to be to us. If those men were such a menace to us, then why did U.S. soldiers in the field even bother taking them prisoner? Why not just kill them? If they were taking up arms against us, that makes them legal targets.
