That depends, currently we are flooding, water usage has been restricted to nesessity only, no ouside usage period. This is because the water treatment plants cant keep up. In this curcumstance it makes sence.

Seriously tho salinated water will probably kill many people before this is over. If it gets into the resevoirs were screwed. Drowning is one thing, lack of water is another. Not sure how using it will make much difference. we`ll either collect it or we wont. It`s when we can`t is when we should panic.
Lucky we dont get earthquakes really. look what happens when the water level rises in places where they do. Does it suprise anyone that the tsunami was the biggest in known history in that region?
It depends how well the government/business (who does it in Britain?)manages those resources. If the water isn't potable then it doesn't matter how much you have.

Hi Brits! I'm an American by the way...but about the global weather: I was in Amsterdam in November and a fella there told me that they have not had as much rainfall in 480 years. Our president brags he doesn't read newspapers but what the heck is Tony Blair's excuse? I have not been able to understand why he has given so much support to gwb. Maybe he dreams of lost colonys.

My god, floods! This proves global warming is real! Prior to suvs life on earth was idyllic, there were no floods, no earthquakes, no heat waves, in fact the entire world was at a pleasant 67 degrees year round, it was nice. Then bush came along and now it gets hot in the summer and rains sometimes. Curse him!
Near where I live i`ve slowly watched the tide levels rise. the sea defence has been extended 3 times in less than 30 years. There didn`t even used to be a wall at all. Southport is getting increasingly likely to flood.
What makes it worse is that the power stations at heysham are spewing out trillions of gallons of boiling hot water from the coolers. somethin like 80,000 gallons a minute. The sea temperature in morecambe bay can be as high as 6 degrees above normal temp. Nice if you want to swim in summer. not so nice on the ecology around it. Huge bird estureis becoming lost. rats multiplying in thousands because of the availability of dead things and the increase in temperature.
It isnt the individual, although we could all make sacrifices, but its big industry thats the problem.
I find it difficult to understand the american angle on this. Some americans assume because it doesn`t affect them it`s not real. But I only need to go for a walk to see the evidence. Canadians seem to be aware of it and can accept it. why is it such a difficult thing to understand? It may not affect you in your entire life, but it will affect your offspring. Pretending its not real does not make it go away.
Not sure where tony blair comes into it tho. We do alsorts in this country to promote the recycling mentality. It`s taught in school. We dont use propellents that effect the ozone. But guess who uses lots of it? yep in air conditioning units all over america. It`s not your leaders that need to sort this out for you. no president can enact a law that says no air conditioning. but you can, im sure, find an alternative. and if you think thats unfair then isnt it a little unfair to accept you killing us with your lack of understanding?

There are plenty of facts to suggest bigfoot is real, doesn't make it so. Science doesn't work by suggestions, what your best hunch is. They work by facts. And screwing over the worlds economy, dooming millions to poverty and starvation to suit some politicians assumption unsupported by facts doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Hell, we could all take certain facts and make the assumption that the apocolypse is coming by july. Are you going to repent and beg for salvation? Nah, that'd be silly.

You ever stop to think that the world climate might be changing and it have nothing to do with mankind? You people point to the fact that there are more floods this year than there were a hundred years ago and assume that's proof it's all mans fault. But have you ever considered the fact that perhaps this would happen even without us, just as it did for hundreds of millions of years before mankind existed? Nope, of course not.
