No. But when you are conducting war it is. Clearly, there have been in the past and can be in the future balanced budgets with low taxes. Most of this country's history was spent that way. Just got to get rid of the lefties and the vestiges of their failed ideology.

Guns and butter is never really possible. The wars themselves have cost somewhere near 200 billion, (maybe more). But that doesn't count the economic impact that is incurred when National Guardsmen are killed and don't return to their jobs as experienced cops, bakers, or barbers etc. Nor does it include the amount of money that is lost through innovation being deterred because of increased security etc.
