KK: two things. 1, it's called sarcasm. 2, when america lost 3000 people in one day, rather than 2, we had people preaching this line to use immediately. There were no attacks, it was all faked. How insensitive. And yet nobody really criticized those people.
So maybe now people on the left will admit that terrorism is real? Nah, they'll blame this on blair, or bush, or themselves, but never on the actual terrorists. And no, I'm not going to be 'sensitive' about it, in a global war against islamic extremism sensitivity should rate pretty low on your list of priorities.

An attack like this would take more time to plan. It was most likely that they waited until the G8 summit in Scotland, knowing that the press would be focused on that part of the world, and that the world leaders, particularly Bush, would be on UK soil.
i just saw a man on the news say he saw bodies on the tracks, the death toll will surely be more than 2.
This is horrible. My prayers go out to the victims and I wish they could hang whoever's responsible.
I'm with small on this one. Al-Queda had it planned to coincide with the G8 summit, but they definitely knew about the olympic bid, so either way they had a ready-made media presence. Fucking creeps.
Well, herz makes great points, as usual. Do to sensitivity issues (with respect the the brits, nto the extremists, to be clear), I will refrain from injecting any further opinions on this ballot. I hope all you Brits are ok.

That was my gut feeling. but this couldn't have been planned in 20 hours. I bet the terrorists were pleased about 2012
I think it would be prudent to wait until all the facts are in before we start making assumptions. I have a very strong opinion about this (motive and culprits), but I'm going to clam up until we have some more data to work with.
Just remember that a terrorist attack is most successful when it results in truly instilling fear in the populace.
herzog when did liberals deny that there are terrorists? you or bill o'really saying that does not make it so.

i'm a liberal and have never said or thought that. liberals i have heard are saying that the actions of gwb2 are making MORE terrorists.
(More to the point of the ballot, though, I think if you did a poll of things that are most important to londoners, the olympic games of 2012 would not be at the top of the list. I think (key word) that the games may have been more of a bonus than a reason.)

Just because you like to attack liberals doesn't mean that you should do it at any time -- if you noticed, herzog, I'm perhaps the biggest conservative-basher on this site, and I made this ballot without blaming conservatives at all.
As for the G8 Summit, I didn't think about that at the moment I made this ballot. Good points, y'all.

Because there's no way whatsoever conservatives could be to blame, it'd be like blaming it on the greens.
Look, there are plenty of people in europe who believe al qaeda is a myth, I don't think I need to tell you about that. And this should have been a wakeup call for them. Otherwise it's pure hypocrisy and anti-american vitriol to say the 911 attacks were faked, because they were against america, and these were real, because they weren't against america. A little consistency here.
Yes, I feel terrible for the british people, they didn't deserve this and I hope all the brits on this site made it through alright. But you'll notice I didn't direct any of my comments at them, but rather at the people who claim this sort of thing is all a hoax. Which makes perfect sense, unless you deny these people exist?
