I'd like to hear their rationale -- if this is real, it seems very probably to be a misdirected effort, akin to teaching bad grammar and enunciation. Have to admit ... I find it hard to believe, though.
Yo man thats whack E. I be thinkin them dogs gots thems head up their ass. Yo word up.
*shakes head and walks away..sadly*
Yeah I know cathexis hard to believe, but they did a write up about it in the daily San Bernadio Sun, interviewed some of the teachers & everything so it seems to be something that have put into motion.
Did you know that in 1996 the school board of Oakland Ca actually officially recognized Ebonics as a seperate language? (true)
School curriculums have been dumbing down for years, stressing kids' ability to take tests rather than actually teaching math and science, in which we're lagging far behind. And show me a place where Ebonics might actually be of use in the real world.
I think you can get a doctorite in Ebonics from Berkeley :-D
What's da world coming ta. It'shard ta believe, I find it very disturbing. you know das right! I spect it time to ebonify dis whack site.
they're just doing it in case they offend blacks by not doing it.
Very definately. American students graduate unable to read, so what's the solution? Teach improper english! Of course any kid who chooses to take ebonics probably didn't have any future anyway, but they shouldn't encourage idiots.
Where,..no...who is teaching Ebonics? You can't be serious.
Ya'll muthafukkas be trippin. Ebonicical communications be critical fo advancementation in a work place sitiation, ya feel me. Shiiit bitch I got Yale axin me to teach ebonification courses, but I be tellin them bitch ass niggas to raise up off my nuts.
one kooky teacher in one kooky place suggests this, fox news picks it up and runs with it. next thing i hear all the right wing nut cases want to close all the schools.
What close all schools? I don't think the right wingers are nuts here dude.
I know that it Maya Angelou used to get really pissed about the concept of teaching in Ebonics.
