I work with Chinese people, I am what you could call the tolken white guy. When we opened this location the Chinese owner said when you are at work you speak only english.

Should a business owner be allowed to dictate what language is spoken?

IMO, only in business situations. Beyond that, it's a free country. (Canada DOES meet that requirement, doesn't it?) Back when I worked for Federated, I routinely used French in all the wrong ways to describe some of my superiors, until I ran into one of their wives, who happened to have done a summer at the Sorbonne. After that, I kept my thoughts private.
