COMMENTS:
If they're instigating trouble, but not linked to anything specific they should be deported. If there is any evidence they are linked to terrorism they should be jailed, or executed depending on the level of involvment. But either way they should never be free to cause trouble in our society.
Who gets to decide if "someone is a serious enough threat that he/she is deportable?" Can we simply inform on people we don't like and get them deported as "suspected terrorists?" Or what? And what is the threshold of "sufficient evidence?" Who decides? What criteria do you propose for making this decision? Hell, Cletus, you might get labeled as a "suspected terrorist" with all the dust you stir up around here. How can you prove you're not? Seriously, racheting down our due process threshold is scary stuff. What sounds good to us in the heat of a terrorist attack, might well turn out to be a real bad idea when things cool down a bit. And, what are we fighting terrorism for? Our rights and our freedom. Let's not lose these in the war against our enemies.
If they're spreading propaganda around that promotes terrorism then they should be monitored. If they have connection to terrorism then they should be jailed. Deporting suspects is an old strategy that most of the time proves to be ineffective.
I think they jail them indefinitely if suspected of terrorism or they might call them enemy combatants and send them to Guantanomo.
