i think you nailed it. they need to take a stand. 99.9% of the religion is without guilt in the terrorisms, but the slight percentage that is carrying out the violence is totally ruining the good name of their faith. the leaders of the faith need to step forward and demand that they stop the violence and also, they need to use their influence to get western nations to finally listen to the problems --once there is an open dialouge and action on both sides, it sort of stymies the terrorists because they run out of "reasons" for thier violence.

Have we considered that mainstream Muslims might have something to fear from extremists if they go public with their opposition.
I mean, if these guys kill themselves to kill anyone in general, how much more likely might they be kill to quiet dissent in the Muslim community?
While the muslim community has been pretty united on opposition to terror, there has also been the problem with some of the statements which appear to make rationalizations. This lends itself to criticism. Complete consistency of message would be very helpful.
Also, stronger efforts to publicize the efforts that have been made would be useful. Many of these efforts have gone unreported or lightly reported.
Start having respect for other religions! One isn't an infidel just because they don't pray to your God!!!! Do Christians call Muslims infidels because they don't believe in Christ??? Mutual respect, fuck the name calling!

First and foremost make it clear to everyone else they don't support these acts, so far they haven't. Then they should start cooperating with the authorities on this. Police their own community (if you don't the FBI and CIA will) rounding up terrorists and those who financially support terrorists. Contribute people who speak arabic to aid in translations. And of course, depose any religious leaders preaching war against the west.
If they were to do all this not only would the war be over a lot sooner, but they'd help protect their own religion in the west and elsewhere.
And who's they? I suppose in the minds of the fear-driven chickenhawks every Muslim in the US should sign a loyalty oath to the Republican Party.
Actually, numerous Muslims and Muslim organizations have spoken out against terrorism including issuing fatwas. The chickenhawks have ignored it, of course, since that isn't something that reinforces their cowardly racism.
And also, of course, hellzog isn't telling the truth when he implies that Muslims haven't cooperated with American authorities.
And it's interesting that the facist-leaning hellzog supports the use of the CIA as a policing authority within the United States--a major deviation from their previous role, external to the US. I assume this means he supports a conversion of the CIA into a sort of American KGB.
And the US government has been the greatest obstacle to the US of arabic-speaking immigrants as interpreters.
And I love the threat against Muslims: "if you don't the FBI and CIA will." I'm sure coming from a squawking chickenhawk any Muslim reading this would be filled with fear. LOL.
One simple fact is that the US has done an incompetent job reaching out and integrating US Muslims into their activities, tending to treat them all as foreign threats instead. A big mistake.

Not sure quite who you are referring to here but you are plain wrong. Muslim leaders, clerics and scholars have repeatedly condemned terror attacks.

This is so much harder than it sounds. Terrorists are not labelled or obvious. They are regular people leading regular lives. They are able to simply melt into a community without even neighbours knowing who they are. You veiled threats are just the kind of thing that incites hatred, surely you must realise this?!

Listen to yourself! You are advocating a war on Islam (co-operate or else seems to be your tagline) whilst labouring under the misapprehension that we somehow have the moral high ground here. How about the fact that coalition forces are wreaking untold misery everyday?! How about the fact that we are there in Iraq for one reason only - oil. True states of terror like Zimbabwe and the Sudan are ignored for the simple fact that they have nothing to offer us.

You need to think about why people are motivated to blow someone else up. The reason or causes are rarely religious.

Your "cooperate with the authorities" comment seems to imply Muslims are guilty of something or that they have information we need. Inaccurate.
