COMMENTS:
The russian naval strategy is based on sinking ships, not bringing them to the surface. Maybe if you would've have the same strategy, you wouldn't have lost the empire...
And you thought Americans were arrogant!
^ They are. Easynow, cut out the vulgar posturing, eh? The Old World has nothing to learn from people that insist on boating about their achievements, both real and imaginary.
I heard they have the know-how to perform rescue operations of that kind but they lack the funds to maintain those units operating. That being said, one cannot be certain that the Brits or any other country wont need help if some similar accident happens with one of their vessels...
DingleDick don't you got a bus to catch?
Americans have made FAR more arrogant posts than this
So what? We're all guilty, wave your flag somewhere else! If you look back two days ago I said in comments "who cares who rescues them as long as their rescued", it's your countryman who's gloating....I'm happy they're safe period. good job British Navy!
Good story for Hollywood, but the main players wont be British.

It was a nice example of international cooperation.
LOL, easy! I was really relieved and happy that the Russian submariners were rescued by the Brits. Good show and all that. I'd have been just as happy if the Russians had accomplished themselves. Let me nibble just a bit on your "hook:" Britian has one of the best navies in the world, and they are doubtless skilled at rescuing the sunken ships and submarines of their own navy.
i'm sorry to say however great the british navy was and to an extent still is, it is being undermined by the recent governments and with labour in power it is set to get worse
i think the british, americans and the japanese showed how successful joint cooperation can be -- regardless of who got there first. ultimately, it doesn't matter because the most important thing was saving the russian sailors, and that was accomplished. the british should be rightfully pleased with their success in the rescue.

dingleDUNg really knows nothing about America, or Americans other than what he watched on the BBC.
Russians suck at rescue operations period. Russian authorities never were really good at rescue operations, be they saving stranded sub-mariners, people held hostage by terrorists in a movie theatre, or by those same terrorists holding children hostage in a school. Sadly, I think the Russian mentality is way too fatalistic for their own good.
Give the Russians some credit, after all, and paradoxically, going from the nether regions of the Earth to the ether regions of Space, had the shuttle not been able to land, the Russians would have been the only nation on earth with the technology and means to rescue the shuttle crew.
JOHAN MORITZ are you having your period toots..??...we didint LOSE the Empire..we simply...HANDED it back..nuff said
i like Americans but i can see the hollywood remake of this now....RUSSIAN SUB DOWN...starring. Ben Affleck as Captain Wither HMS whatever...Matt Damon as Lt. Jones HMS Whatever lmao...ahhh..cracks me up...
The British are certainly capable of making their own movies with their own home grown actors.
