nirvana and kurt cobain indeed started the "grunge" scene and created a whole new generation for teens.

"smells like teen spirit", considered to be one of the greatest rock/grunge videos ever.

dave groul, drummer of nirvana started foo fighters after cobain's suicide.

in the 90's, nirvana was the hottest thing ever, today: the foos r pretty big. they have some really catchy and great songs to their list, so have nirvana.

Nirvana were a heartfelt example of music. foo fighters are, although catchy and write some good tunes, riding of the success (and this is the odd part) of dave grohl. who`d have thought someone so dull could be so famous. No comparison here. different thing. But fuck did he make a good album with queens of the stone age. I never did get the cross dressing thing tho.
