COMMENTS:
They were not your friends.
Seems like it. I was too drunk to know that at the time.
I agree with Guy

Never leave a man behind!
^^^Ah yes, the Greek Army's Motto! :P
Sometimes too much to drink isn't enough.
It seems to me that you are locating the responsibility for your own behavior outside yourself. This is almost never a good idea. We are all ultimately responsible for our own behavior and should never depend on others to extricate us from situations and circumstances we creat with our choices.
Have you spoken to your friends about this? If not, you really should. And try to do a bit of self-monitoring with your consumption of mind-altering substances, if you are at all concerned with the potential consequences.
I usually don't drink that much, mainly because it doesn't taste good. However, I hadn't had much to eat, and I had four Sake bombs and a double-shot of cranberry vodka, and when it caught up to me, it caught up BIG TIME. I remember everything, and I was never sick, so it wasn't like I was ever in dire straits. griffon, it wasn't like I was 'expecting' them to help me or anything. I just thought it was pretty damn low of them to just get up and leave while I was away. It was obviously premeditated -- and the thing is, I'm still new to town, so it wasn't like I could just find someone I knew.
to Applerod and Griffin007: said like a true church lady! you go grandma!
^Actually, weebles, the weak, whiney side of the responsibility issue is populated by sniveling people who always blame others for the consequences of their behavior. Real men shoulder responsibility.
Again, what Guy Cabbelero said, they aren't your friends.
Some of my so-called friends in college did that to me; they weren't my friends after it happened.
Just wrong. How long have you known them? I say screw em. They sound like a*sholes.
too bad your parents didn't do the same thing when you were a baby
I'm not saying it wasn't my fault that I got drunk -- I very willingly drank. It was just that I had gone into the bathroom and they had left by the time I came back.
and that is incredibly funny. Now you have learned your lesson that your amigos won't put up with drunken, foolish behavior and you will acquit yourself more appropriately in the future. They could have stayed on and baby-sat you, ruining their evening out, but why should they?
^What's up your ass?
They should have at least called you a cab and left you fare to get home...

After all, you were in a restaurant. Don't Ever feel 'abandoned', for E.Y.E. Am with you, whatever you conceive Me to be... Am E.Y.E. here, Am E.Y.E. there, E.Y.E. Am Everywhere, even though you can't see me, a Compassionate Presence Forever...
