Some people constantly whine about "PC" this and "PC" that, pulling out narrow anecdotes that point out the ludicrous or unfair side of political correctness. Many claim they are simply speaking out against the unfairness of PC culture (although they rarely, if ever, speak out about the injustices of conservative culture).

Is that true or are some of these people really just angry because they feel they are limited in expressing their personal hatred and bigotry?

sorry, but i tend not to agree. "pc" is very subjective and each person has his or her own view of what is offensive. obviously there are some statements or comments that are just blatantly racist or bigoted, but, who am i (or you) to dicate people's thoughts? if someone believes what they are saying or if they don't see it as wrong, there is not much you can do about it. the label of "racist" or "bigot" is totally out of control and over-used to the point that it has lost its meaning. that's the backfire effect. use it too much and use it without thought of what it really means, and at some point, people are so desensitized to it, it means nothing.

I dont think the word 'Nigger' ever loses it impact.

Nor does the word 'Fag' to some in the gay community.

I dont believe it is PC not to articulate prejudice, its just common manners and politeness.

Actually, it seems to me that censoring the truth is a prime Republican objective. No one is going to acuse anyone in the Bush Administration of being in favor of the truth.
