Don't you get it you heartless bastard!?!?! They were without food for a few days, they had no other choice but rape these women to take their minds off it. If you think about it, bush made them do it, which means bush really raped those women. And anyone who blames these rapists for their own actions is a racist.
Before anyone jumps on the 'bush is responsible for all rapes' band-wagon, that was sarcasm.
Being hungry excuses you from looting food, not shooting at aid helicopters and police, not raping anyone, not beating tourists, etc. If you're starving go ahead and get some food, but don't rape anyone on the way, that's pushing it.
The reports out of the Superdome were - ARE - horrific.
If these reports are true (and I've no reason to believe they aren't), then the perpetrators should be hit with the fulll force of the law.
According to one report out of there, one young girl went to the bathroom and was beaten, raped and stabbed to death. Her body was left like a piece of trash in the stinking bathroom. When the people outside heard the screams and figured out who did it, the guy was set upon and beaten to death by the angry mob. I believe they did the right thing under the circumstances.

When anarchy rules, all sense of moral responsibility goes out of the window.
This is why humans instictively band together in communities and pass laws to reaign in our baser instincts.
Some strive for a society with fewer restrictions on their 'freedom'. Some will form militias some advocate alternate types of governments, in the final analysis, without a social community structure, the law of the jungle soon takes over.
Well, Bush is saying the right things and it seems he's finally getting the recovery efforts on the right track. Some may say "too little - too late", but then again they always will no matter who's in charge. I'd still like to see him stick to his words about "zero tolerance" for price gougers.
What a time to screw relief efforts of those trying to send much-needed suppies to the region.
I'm just waiting for someone to complain how selfish and racist it was for all those people to huddle together to protect the women and children. Why weren't the "diversity police" there to break up that little Klan meeting?

I've seen these reports on us media
Rape & murder are not to be condoned -- even in cases of disaster.
What also should nto be condoned are gross over- generalizations that seek to tar a large population with the actions of a few.

I'd love to see someone justify that. It'd be the biggest Bullsh**fest I think any of us would ever see.
And who really cares what race the victims are, raping anyone is a disgusting crime. I don't even see where race is relevant.

In some places more than others.The Mississippi coast,which is mostly white, was was crushed,so where is all of the looting,RAPE AND MURDER THERE????
Steel: a breakdown of society doesn't affect individual morality. Those who see no problem with looting under good circumstances will simply be able to act on this notion when the law is no longer in effect. In a sense it allows people to behave as they wish. And most people remain decent, there are many bad apples who see this as a chance to get away with murder (literally) and seize the oppurtunity.

Rapists would rape if they had a chance.It's got nothing to do with "anarchy" or "disaster".They are animals.They need to be shot immediately in the situation.(people living in open area,kids,females males young,elderly all together)
